  1. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite)
Definitely watching Haeley proclaim "I love you" three times to a random business man who was thoroughly annoyed. Other than that speed walking around the middle school building with Haeley was fun as well. I loved the new add on with the whole QR code--definitely modern and eco-friendly! Mr. Jobe didn't have to print out as many papers as he normally would've since all the problems were digital. It made our traveling easier as well
    2) What was your least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt?
Getting caught by Mr. Forrestal in the beginning was a downer, but we made it in the end so that wasn't that bad.
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better?
There's nothing in particular that I would change. Everything went perfectly and all in all it was a very good work out. It was eco-friendly, easier for us to do and I feel like I'm ready for our math finals! I think it might've been more fun if there were a couple extra problems added to it.
    4) Did you think the QR codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
QR codes definitely made this entire process a lot more fun. This was also because it added an extra challenge. Not too big either. It was the extra challenge of going to find the QR code, identifying it, hastily taking out your smartphone, locating the app and taking the picture, opening the link, waiting for it to load--that kind of stuff doesn't happen when you're simply getting a slip of paper from a teacher. Not to mention a LOT less scary. So yup, QR codes were definitely the highlight of this year's Scavenger Hunt. I know it took lots of effort and time from Mr. Jobe so thank you!!!(:

  2. My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was pretty much everything. I loved solving the problems and getting clues on where to go. My favorite clue was the library one because I thought it was a really good clue even though it taken long to figure out. Singing to both Mr. Forrestal’s and Mr. Patrick’s class was pretty fun too. And it was really awkward cause we had to serenade Mr. Patrick’s class twice. My least favorite part was getting caught by Mr. Forrestal for running (haha). But that didn’t slow us down that much. We finished 2nd after all! :) I don’t think I would change anything about the Scavenger Hunt because it was really AWESOME!!!! But if the scavenger hunt was just a little bit longer, it would have been better and a lot more fun. I think the QR codes definitely made the hunt more than it would have been without them because the QR codes allowed us to look at videos and pictures during the course of our scavenger hunt. The video clues were the best and that wouldn’t have been possible without the QR codes. Overall, the Scavenger Hunt was a really great experience and I hope that more and more teachers start to do this because it is a great way to review! :D

  3. My favourite part of the Scavenger Hunt was the QR-code finding part. I loved how some of the clues rhymed like a riddle, and it was fun power-walking to different places in school to solve a problem. I also liked how you had to sing and dance to random people if you go the answer wrong, but you wouldn’t know it until you were done ‘performing’.
My least favourite part was when the internet connection was slow so the youtube video and equations wouldn’t load quickly. To be honest, I think I was just being extremely impatient, but I remember being frustrated because of it.
To make the Scavenger Hunt better, I think there needs to be more questions. When Faith and I were finished, we had 30 minutes of class left, so one or two more problems would have been better.
Yes, I think the QR Codes may the hunt more fun. This is because it is much more interesting to watch clues and riddles through a youtube video rather than reading a riddle. For example, the first clue that lead to Mr. Patrick’s room (the video with Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants giggling) was only possible because we used the internet. Also, multiple choice questions, or choosing between Option 1 and Option 2 were much more suspenseful since you didn’t know what the other option was unless you scanned everything.
I loved the scavenger hunt this year because it was so much fun and such a good way to review for our final. I hope the high school math teachers try this out next year, because I’ll miss it so much!

  4. My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was when we had to look for QR-code. It was fun to explore the school and find QR-code and then we would have to solve the problems. My partner Jayoon and I had to sing "Little Teapot" to Mr.Forrestal's sixth grader class. Then, we found out that we did not had to perform because you had to do this if you got the answer wrong. My least favorite part would be when the internet slowed us down from getting the clues. Other than that, I enjoyed the most. I don't think there is any way to to make the Scavenger Hunt better than this! I think the QR codes made the hunt more fun. If we only had the problems, it could have been less exciting. With the QR codes, it made me more curious about what's going to be on the QR codes. This was my first time doing scavenger hunt and I really loved it! Out of all, scavenger hunt was the most exciting thing that we've ever done in class!

  5. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was singing You Are My Sunshine to the kids in Mr.Patrick's class. This was really fun as it incorporated a lot more people than just me and Esul.
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
I don't necessarily have a least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt, but if I were to choose it would be that we were confused on the question about the Staff of the Month and had to sing I'm A Little Teapot for Mr.Forrestal's class, even when we didn't get the incorrect answer.
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
The Scavenger Hunt was really enjoyable, but it would've been more fun if we had harder questions and clues, so that it would take us more time to complete it. It would also be fun to have some dancing in it!
    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
The QR codes made the scavenger hunt a lot more interesting. Without them, it would just have been a collection of paper slips and questions here and there. The hints given through the use of QR codes were all really creative, and it added to the excitement of the scavenger hunt.

  6. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
    1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)

I liked how it made me feel really incompetent. It made me realize that I had to study SUPER hard to pass the finals.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)

My least favorite part was that I felt TOO useless and I had trouble solving lot of problems.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)

I would make it closer because my legs started hurting.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?

It was fun competing for the QR Code scan.

  7. 1. My favourite part of the Scavenger Hunt was having to decipher a clue of where to go next. I liked them because the clues were so obvious when you thought about them. However since we were in a hurry it was kind of hard to work out where to go next. Some of my favourite stations were: "Go to the Pacman", "Find a DVD about cats and dogs" and "Turn to the next...".
    2. My least favourite part of the Scavenger Hunt was when we got the equation on the 5th floor wrong and had to sing to a class. It was annoying because we were so close to getting the right answer, but we made a stupid mistake.
    3. There aren't many ways to make the Scavenger Hunt better, but if I had to choose, I would say a couple more problems. However, more problems would mean that less people would finish and only four groups finished in our class.
    4. I think that the QR codes made the Scavenger Hunt more fun because the videos were interesting and funny. The videos also made gave us more clues that writing something on a piece of paper.

  8. 3) I think another way to change the Scavenger Hunt would to have clues. You could put hidden clues through out the school where you know people will walk past.

  9. The scavenger hunt that we (E block) were required to do last class was a very superior way to review past lessons during the first and second semester. This was a chance for students to review for the final, while having fun singing and scanning QR codes. My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was having to say "I love you" three times to the man in the business office. Although it was embarrassing enough to make my face super red, it was a fun opportunity to shout at school. It really helped me relieve stress, too :D On the other hand, my least favorite part was when Lucy and I had to sing "I'm a little tea pot" to the six graders in Mr. Forrestal's class. It was extremely embarrassing, especially because we had to repeat the song three times. If I could make the scavenger hunt better, I would put trickier problems, more wrong answers on the multiple choice,to make students sing more than once. I thought that the QR codes made the hunt more fun than it would've been without it, because Lucy and I had fun scanning it. It was cool to scan education-related QR codes. Overall, I had a great time with this scavenger hunt.

  10. 1) My favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was that we had to “walk fast” around the whole school. I personally had classes on certain floors, so I haven’t got a chance to search around the school. While doing the scavenger hunt, I got to visit many classrooms and places that I didn’t even know it existed and most importantly, get to know more teachers. For example, I didn’t know who Mr. Cory and Ms. Bogart was, but I ended up at least “knowing who they are” after the hunt. Who knows? They might teach me next year in high school! Although it’s almost the end of the year, it was still good to meet other teachers.

    2) I only have one complain. Why did you picked that childish dance song, Mr. Jobe? First time I sang it infront of Ms. Bogart, I didn’t know what this was. But the second time, when I had to dance and sing infront of group of seventh graders in Mr. McLean’s room, then I realized that this is kind of a punishment when I got the wrong answer. Ahhhh, I was so embarrassed and was very livid when I heard the ending bell right after I got out of his room. I don’t know what the audience thought of it, but it was not cool with me. However, I hope Mr. Jobe don’t eliminate that song. I want next scavenger hunters to sing and dance that song, too!

    3) I don’t think any change, either addition or omission, is needed in the Scavenger Hunt. Although I really hated dancing that teapot song, the whole hunt was really fun and I think it was a good review before the final exam. But if any chance, it will be even more fun if you add some easier clues. I had a hard time figuring out most of the clues, especially the cube one.

    4) I think QR Cods made the hunt more entertaining because we didn’t have to read all the written instructions and sometimes got to enjoy the funny youtube videos. Also, I bet those codes will increase the competitiveness between the students, at least I did. Because we have the problems and clues in our hand, we could move to more secured places to not to expose our answers or next place to go. It made me feel really secretive and helped to more participate into the hunt.

  11. The favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was look for QR codes and capture and solve the problems or find the place to go. The least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was there was so many QR code we need to capture and we need to run around the school to find it. I think there is nothing to change about the Scavenger Hunt. It was tired but it was really fun to do it. I think the QR codes made the hunt more fun because it was fun to take our smartphones to find the QRs and take a picture and find where to go or solve the problems.

  12. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was using the QR codes and watching the videos(it was funny).
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was that Gus and I used an Ipod touch so we had to use school internet which was slower compared to 3G and it made us spend more time.
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
Umm..IF I was to change about the Scavenger Hunt, I would make people use school internet only cause if some people were to use 3G which is faster then it's unfair for others using school internet.
Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
Yes, I do think the QR Codes made the hunt more enjoyable and fun than it would have been without them. Last year, I participated in Scavenger hunt and we were just looking at pictures and questions which made it unenjoyable. However, this scavenger hunt allowed me to watch videos and gather all possible hints from it which made it enjoyable.

  13. 1. What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was going around the school and looking for answers and hints. After looking at images and videos, we had to guess the places we had to go. Also, the videos were fun to watch.
    2. What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was doing the teapot dance, at first we didn’t know that it meant we got a wrong answer and we were confused by it. Also, it was really embarrassing to sing and dance to a nursery rhyme to teachers and some students in other class.
    3. What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
To make the Scavenger Hunt better, I would change the places a bit because we had to go and move fast in order to finish it. However, the going around the whole school was too tiring. For example, we were all tired and unable to move fast after going all the way up to the basketball cage. Also, I would increase the time so we could have time to slow down and focus more on the problems.
    4. Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun because we had to scan it and watch it in order to know the questions and find the hints. If they were just hints, we wouldn’t be able to spot them because it could be just a random photo or video stuck in the school. QR Codes were much more easier to notice. Also, the Scavenger Hunt this year was much more fun that last year, which was without the QR Codes.
