  1. Esul Burton, Soomin Park, Ashley KimAugust 30, 2011 at 4:54 PM

Commutative: When putting on shoes, if you put the left one on and then the right one on, and the next time you put the right one on and then the left one on, in both cases, you still get two shoes on.

Associative: One day, Esul pairs up with Ashley and goes to the cafeteria, with Soomin trailing behind. The next day, Esul trails behind while Ashley and Soomin pair up and go to the cafeteria. But the result is the same because all three get to the cafeteria.

Transitive: Ashley’s purple manicure is the same shade as Esul’s purple manicure, and Esul’s purple manicure is the same shade as Soomin’s purple manicure, thus Ashley’s purple manicure is the same shade as Soomin’s purple manicure.

Distributive: If you go to a birthday party, they can’t give a goody bag to just one person and not the other, they have to distribute the goody bags to everybody.

Identity: If Esul’s poor and Ashley and Soomin don’t give her money, Esul is still poor.

Property of Opposites: If you are sick and you get medicine, then you are not sick anymore and there is no medicine left, so the two things cancel each other out.

Property of Opposite of a Sum: Esul went skiiing and broke her leg. At a different time, Soomin went skiing and broke her leg. The result is that they both broke their legs. But if Esul and Soomin went skiing together and broke their legs together, the result is the same as the previous situation: they both broke their legs.
